Kmart and Publix have been honored by The March of Dimes South Carolina Chapter for top performing volunteers and companies at the annual Volunteer Leadership Dinner held in Columbia on November 15, 2009. Kmart received the Pinnacle Award for raising $149,172 in South Carolina. Publix Super Markets received the next highest award for raising $136,195 in South Carolina.
