Alvin Strasburger III and Evelyn Murdaugh Mitchell Mr. and Mrs. David C. Mitchell of Beaufort, South Carolina, announce the engagement of their daughter, Evelyn Murdaugh, to Alvin Strasburger III.

The bride elect graduated from Beaufort High School in 2003 and Columbia University in 2007 with a degree in history. She is currently a second year student at the University of South Carolina School of Law.

The bridegroom elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Strasburger Jr. He graduated from Hammond School in 2002, Columbia University in 2006 with a BS in operations reseach, and the Medical University of South Carolina in 2009 with a master’s degree in bioinformatics. He is presently a student at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. A May wedding is planned in Beaufort.
