Babes in Toyland at Town Theatre, December 4–6. Babes in Toyland will be performed at Town Theatre, directed by Jamie Carr Harrington, Friday, December 4 at 7 pm; Saturday, December 5 at 2 pm and 7 pm; and Sunday, December 6 at 2 pm.

This delightful holiday musical classic features over 50 talented and enthusiastic young people from the Midlands. Since September, Town’s afternoons have been filled with joyous preparations and rehearsals, costumes and choreography, and the cre- ation of toys that spring to life.

The villainous Barnaby has fallen in love with sweet Mistress Mary Quite Contrary. If he can’t buy her love, then he’ll force her to marry him by threatening to foreclose on her mother, the poor widow Piper. But, don’t worry, by show’s end everyone will be cheering as they all go to Toyland.

All tickets are $10 general admission.

Each $10 ticket entitles you to see Babes in Toyland and the second act:

• Friday, December 4 at 7 pm – the St. Andrews Middle School Singers under the direction of Veronica Akins will present a program of seasonal favorites

• Saturday, December 5 at 2 pm – the Greater Columbia Children’s Choir under the direction of Dr. Susan Wyatt will present a program of seasonal favorites

• Saturday, December 5 at 7 pm – the Kelly Middle School Players will present a musical version of Cinderella with a Christmas theme

• Sunday, December 6 at 2 pm – the Trinity Learning Center Players will present “The Night Before Christmas” followed by a visit with Santa by each child present (photos will be taken of the visit with The Big Guy himself and will be given or emailed to the respective family as a gift from Town Theatre).
