Nanny is being boarded at a local vet and does not have room to stretch out to be able to properly nurse. We need a foster home for Nanny and her pups immediately! Project Pet is the only animal rescue organization in the Midlands dedicated to the rescue of municipal shelter pets scheduled for euthanasia. We pull dogs and cats from the shelters daily, and provide the medical care and social interactions needed to place them in loving, forever homes. 407-0991

The Animal Mission of the Midlands is a 501(c)3 charitable organization in South Carolina founded to promote pet adoptions at the City of Columbia Animal Shelter, to enhance conditions and outcomes for shelter-bound animals, to educate the people of the Midlands on pet and humane issues and to promote spay/neuters. We are run solely by volunteers, with no paid staff, no office and no overhead or administrative expenses.

Petfinder is an on–line, searchable database of animals that need homes. It is also a directory of over 12,500 animal shelters and adoption organizations across the USA, Canada and Mexico. Organizations maintain their own home pages and available pet database.

ANIMAL PROTECTION LEAGUE

The APL Holiday Sponsorship program is focusing once again on its Black Pearls—those beautiful, lovable black dogs and cats who end up in shelters across the country in disproportionate numbers and who are statistically more likely to be euthanized than their brown, red, gray, orange, white, or mottled counterparts.

By giving Black Pearl Sponsorship Gifts this holiday season, you can honor a friend or loved one, help bring attention to the plight of these precious animals, and support the mission of the APL—all at once. This year, the league is offering two Black Pearl gift options: for your donation of $50 or more, they will send your honoree either a golf shirt, black or white, with an embroidered Black Pearl logo in the contrasting color or a two–toned cotton tote bag (19"x 15"x 6") with the Black Pearl logo printed on both sides.
