South Kilbourne Neighborhood Association meets
The South Kilbourne Neighborhood Association met on Thursday, November 5. Michelle Huggins said the South Kilbourne community will hold its first annual Christmas Yard decorating contest. Judging will be held December 19 with the results being announced on December 21.
Brittany Skiles and Bobby Markle, with Project CRAFT: Connecting Residents and Families throughout Technology said they are conducting ten minute interviews with residents of the South Kilbourne Neighborhood. These interviews will be posted on South Kilbourne’s website. They will be conducting an interview session at Owen’s Field Airport Conference Center on November 14 from 12 pm to 5 pm. Neve Trumpter, a resident of South Kilbourne, said she has been working to get a mini–grant for the neighborhood. The mini–grant allows the city of Columbia to match the money that the South Kilbourne community raises. The money will fund welcome signs for the neighborhood and future projects. Dr. Belinda Gergel has offered to donate $1000 for the project.
Sara St. George and Kyle Craig, representatives of Healthy Palmetto and the Palmetto Health Hospital, want to begin walking groups, both large and small, and an education session about healthy eating.
The next South Kilbourne meeting will be in February.
