A special music program will be offered at Eastminster Presbyterian Church Friday, November 6 at 7 pm, honoring the memory of Lester Bates Jr., a long–time Eastminster member.

Guest musician will be renowned organist Charles Webb, dean emeritus of the Indiana University School of Music. Dr. Webb has performed in the U.S. and Europe and received many awards. He will be joined by Dr. Ann Benson, mezzo soprano formerly of Columbia, currently on the faculty at Coastal Carolina University.

These three individuals — Dr. Webb, Dr. Benson, and Lester Bates Jr. — were friends for many years. Dr. Benson received her master’s in music degree at Indiana University while Dr. Webb was dean.

The program is free to the public with a reception to follow in Thompson Hall next to the sanctuary. Eastminster is located at 3200 Trenholm Road.
