Medical doctors are not the only answer

Years ago, I was diagnosed with a crippling form of arthritis. The pain was really bad and did not stop. The diagnosis for the future was that I was not going to get better. Three different medical doctors said they could only monitor me. That meant they were just going to watch me get worse.

I asked about going to a chiropractor, and all three doctors said they would only make me worse. I went anyway. On my first visit, I got some relief. After three months of care, I could walk with no pain. After several years of chiropractic care, I decided to go back to school to become a doctor of chiropractic myself.

Now years have passed and I did not get well, but I never got as bad as the medical books said. I did not win the war, but I did not lose it either. I am not perfect, but I am a lot better than if I had just accepted my sentence and suffered like the medical world said I would.
