The Bobbi Rossi Memorial Scholarship was created by the Rossi family after her death in 1984 as a way of perpetuating her presence in the community. It immortalizes her optimism, enthusiasm, and commitment to humanity. Each year, Cardinal Newman School awards this scholarship to a senior who possesses not only the dedication and spirit illustrated by Ms. Rossi’s life, but also the power to reach and touch others.

Candidates are nominated by members of the class during their junior year, and they must also complete an essay explain- ing how they embody the Rossi spirit.

Goodwin is a member of the National Honor Society, president of the Key Club, and treasurer of the student body. She also is president of the Catholic Commission, which is responsible for planning all religious activities at the school, an executive board member of the religious organization Alpha Theta, and she has served on the Cardinal Newman Disciplinary Committee.

Her many services throughout the community include being a eucharistic minister at the school, a volunteer through the HomeWorks of America program, helping to repair homes for less fortunate people, and a camp volunteer both at school and at local churches in the Columbia area. She also has earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award throughout her high school years at Cardinal Newman.
