Viking Marching Band winner at Tournament of Bands
      The Spring Valley Viking Marching Band was first place winner with a Superior rating at The Town of Blythewood Tournament of Bands October 17. It earned the highest music score as well.

RNE Band marches to excellent rating
      Richland Nor theast High School’s Silver Cadets Marching Band took third place overall (excellent rating) and second in visual execution, drumline, and general effect at the Orangeburg Band Competition (Garden City Classic) on October 17. Kelly Mill hosts fundraiser carwash
      Kelly Mill, INC. students participated in a carwash recently, held at Walgreen’s in the Village at Sandhills. The students raised $1,500 as part of the carwash. All money raised goes directly back to the students to help them pay for field trips to Washington, D.C., New York City, and Europe. The students are planning additional fundraising events. Boy Scouts celebrate 100th birthday
      In 2010, the Boy Scouts of America will celebrate its 100th anniversary. In Columbia, the Indian Waters Council, chartered in 1916, has planned a year of celebrations. The Council Camporee will be held Saturday, November 7 in Camden. About 1,000 boys and their leaders will demonstrate a myriad of outdoor activities.
