will present Journeys

Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 7:30 pm at Koger Center for the Arts. The Philharmonic will perform

Verge by John Fitz Rogers, who lives in Columbia, and

Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky (arr. Ravel); Wu Man, the leading ambassador of pipa (ancient Chinese lute) will be performing a Concerto for Pipa, a theatrical journey that will transport the audience to China’s 4,000–year–old Ghost Opera tradition at

Taoist funerals. The Concerto

for Pipa was written by Tan Dun.
