Edgar Allan Poe at Mister Poe’s Nightmares

at 7 pm Thursday, October 29 in the Bostick Auditorium of the Richland County Public Library, located at 1431 Assembly St. The free program, part of the national reading initiative The Big Read, is directed by Clarence Felder, an RCPL Literary Resident and cofounder of Actor’s Theatre of South Carolina.

This award–winning show starring Lee O. Smith and Chris Weatherhead features poems and stories and a haunting by Poe’s mother.

Lee O. Smith has been acting nearly 15 years in professional and community theatre and on local television. He has been performing for The Actors' Theatre of South Carolina as the tortured poet, Edgar Allan Poe, in Mister

Poe’s Nightmares for several years.

Chris Weatherhead has been a leading lady in theatre, film and television for 25 years in New York, Los Angeles and around the United States. Weatherhead is also a screenwriter, playwright, director, and acting teacher.

Clarence Felder helped form The Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina to share the talents he developed while working in theatre, film, and television in New York and Los Angeles. He has an extensive knowledge of world literature and is associated with an exceptionally talented group of actors.

The Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina has had a longstanding relationship with the Richland County Public Library and premieres new works there annually, bringing history and music to life.
