Mrs. Richard LeRoy Robbins
Mr. and Mrs. Richard LeRoy Robbins were married October 3, 2009 at 5 o’clock in the evening at the Pawleys Island Community Chapel in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Don Williams officiated at the ceremony. A reception was held at the Carriage House at Litchfield Plantation following the service.
The marriage is announced by the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gabrey Weston of Columbia, South Carolina. Mrs. Robbins, the former Catherine Keenan Weston, is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard deGraffenried Keenan and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Stevenson Weston Jr., all of Columbia, South Carolina. The bride, formerly of Columbia, is a graduate of Hammond School and a graduate of Washington and Lee University. Prior to her marriage, she was employed as a sports marketing buyer at Amazon.com in Seattle, Washington.
Mr. Robbins is the son of Richard Wayne Robbins of Central, South Carolina and the late Anora Reinburg Robbins of Apex, North Carolina. He is the grandson of Mrs. Richard Calvin Robbins and the late Colonel Robbins of Central, South Carolina and Captain LeRoy Reinburg, Jr. and the late Mrs. Reinburg of Silver Spring, Maryland. The bridegroom is a graduate of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School in Winston–Salem, North Carolina and a graduate of Clemson University. He is employed by Bernstein Global Wealth Management in Washington, D.C.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
Virginia Winn Rothschild of New York, New York was her maid of honor. Other attendants were Ellen Ritsch Boyle of Richmond, Virginia; Ruth Duncan Coppeans of Nashville, Tennessee; Sallie Ball Mason of Taos, New Mexico; Caroline Gee Prezzano of San Francisco, California; the groom’s sister Mary Elizabeth Robbins of Brooklyn, New York; the bride’s cousin Cathryn Lucia Stolbach of Chicago, Illinois; and the bride’s sister in law Katherine Busch Weston of Atlanta, Georgia.
Richard Wayne Robbins served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen in the wedding party were Michael Paul Joseph of Washington, D.C.; Peter Thomas Joseph of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Brian Albert McGurkin of Winston– Salem, North Carolina; the groom’s cousin Peyton Gray Robbins of Charleston, South Carolina; Joseph Clay Ruggieri of New York, New York; Matthew Jon Teich of Chicago, Illinois and the bride’s brother Robert Gabrey Weston Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia.
The groom’s aunt Virginia Reinburg of Summerville, Massachusetts and Whitney Hart Schickling of Nashville, Tennessee were readers. The bride’s cousins Julian Keenan Grayson and Mary Simms Oliphant of Charleston, South Carolina served as greeters. The bride’s cousin Wilson deGraffenried Grayson of Pawleys Island, South Carolina was the bellringer.
After a wedding trip to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Robbins will live in Washington, D.C.
