Visit scenic Ireland with MTC
Midlands Technical College Continuing Education is offering a travel opportunity for golfers and non–golfers wanting to visit Ireland. Join Midlands Technical College on April 9–16, 2010, for a customized, once–in–a– lifetime golfing and sightseeing tour of the Emerald Isle.
Golfers will play one round each on Ireland’s best–known courses – Ballybunion Old, Tralee, and Portmarnock Old. Green fees are included, so golfers will only pay for caddies, carts and club rentals.
Mid Carolina Club golf pro Lee Duncan said, “Ballybunion Old Course is simply a don’tmiss opportunity. If you only play one course in Ireland, this should be the one." Duncan added that Tralee and Portmarnock are also classic links golf courses.
While the golfers are playing on three days, non–golfers will be enjoying the sights and tours of Killarney, Muckross House and Gardens, Gallarus Oratory, and the majestic Cliffs of Moher (admissions included). On non–golfing days, everyone will be visiting Limerick, Cork, Blarney Castle and Dublin, just to name a few – plus there’s plenty of opportunity for shopping.
Participants will enjoy full Irish breakfasts daily; first–class hotel accommodations; five dinners; and special entertainment featuring Irish dancing, music and song in Dublin; plus a host of other surprises.
“This week–long excursion combines Ireland’s top golf courses, luxury accommodations, wonderful Irish breakfasts, dinners, sightseeing, and our own guide and tour bus, said Patsy Towery, director of MTC Continuing Education’s Special Programs and Community Education. “We’ve planned for both golfers and non–golfers with emphasis on fun, learning, comfort and ease. There will be plenty of opportunities for shopping, talking with locals and exploring Dublin on our own. This is the perfect golfing trip for both golfers and sightseers.”
The group will fly out of Charlotte, NC, to New York, NY, and on to Ireland. Just about everything is included in the $2995 tuition for golfers and $2399 for non– golfers; however, fluctuating airline taxes and additional baggage fees could not be included. Deposits of $250 are due by November 9 with final payment due on December 14.
MTC Continuing Education is also offering another unique travel opportunity soon. Travel to Thailand with MTC February 4–15, 2010, and learn the language while having fun exploring this wonderful Asian culture. The group will spend seven mornings studying Thai language and culture, and will spend their afternoons and another three full days sightseeing. The cost of the trip is $1299 (plus airfare).
