“Kidprint” successful in Richland County

Contributed by Richland County Sheriff ’s Department

The “Kidprint” Program was developed in 1996 by the Richland County Sheriff ’s Department because there was a need to provide citizens with child identifications should a child become lost.

“Kidprint” is a free service. Citizens are encouraged to continue taking advantage of this service.

The “Kidprint” process works as follows:

• Establish an event date and time and request the services

• RCSD “Kidprint” personnel arrives

• Parent brings child to “Kidprint” table

• Child is fingerprinted

• Receives identification card

• Photo is taken and attached to the card along with statistical information

• Entire packet is given to the parent to place in a safe location

Contact the Richland County Sheriff's Department to set up “Kidprint” at 803-576-3000, fax 576-3195, or email sheriff@rcsd.net.
