Jefferson Scholars Foundation honors Heathwood Hall alumna

Sarah Caroline Plowden of Columbia is one of 24 students to earn the prestigious Jefferson Scholarship for study at the University of Virginia beginning this fall. The award recognizes a devotion to the pursuit of excellence and Caroline's potential to benefit the University in a most substantial way.

Caroline is the daughter of Sally and Russell Plowden of Columbia. An accomplished student who has excelled in all areas of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School's curriculum, Caroline is a National Merit Scholarship finalist, an AP Scholar with Distinction, a Carolina Scholar, and a member of the Cum Laude Society. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, has received the Silver Cup Award for three consecutive years on the National Spanish exam, and in addition to numerous course awards, is the recipient of the Harvard Book Award and the Golden Palmetto Leadership Award in Academics.
