The Midlands Chapter of SCNPS is having a Fall Kick- Off walk at Camp Gravatt in Aiken County September 19. Anyone interested in learning more about plant life in South Carolina is invited. This outing is designed for new and old members alike.

Botanists Bert Pittman and Linda Lee will lead this easy walk in one of the more interesting areas of the State. A variety of woodland types from Sand Hills to Wetland will be seen. An Atlantic White Cedar Bog should be of particular interest. Participants are encouraged to bring water and a snack or lunch. The walk will begin at 10 am and end about 2 pm.

To find Camp Gravatt, go west on I- 20 to Exit #29. Go right (North) on Wire Road and turn left on Kedron Church Road. Go about ¾ mile to Camp Gra- vatt Road and follow it in to the parking area adjacent to Stewart Dining Hall.

Those who would like to carpool are asked to meet at the Park & Ride beside the Recycling Collection Center at I- 20 and US#378 by 9 am (adjacent to Palmetto Lawn & Leisure).
