      On Thursday September 3, the A.C. Flora Falcons defeated the Eau Claire Shamrocks 35- 0 at Memorial Stadium. Eagles bully Bearcats
      On Friday September 4, the Chapin Eagles defeated the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats 45- 7 at The Cage. The score was close early on in the first quarter, but the Chapin offense turned up the heat to open the gap and come away with an impressive win.

Highlanders take Episcopal Bowl
      With a 25- 21 victory over Christ Church Friday, September 4, the Heathwood Hall Highlanders took a 5- 3 lead in the Episcopal Bowl series with the Upstate school. Mac Whalen led the Highlanders with 180 yards passing and 87 yards rushing which included three touchdown runs.

16th Annual Marine Corps Ultimate Challenge Run to benefit local Marines and their families
      The Columbia Regional Sports Council announces the upcoming16th Annual Marine Corps Ultimate Challenge Run on Saturday, September 19, 2009. The Ultimate Challenge Run, also known as the "Mud Run," is over 4.3 miles and has plenty of mud and obstacles that have to be crossed by a four person team requiring teamwork and determination.

Skyhawks escape with victory over Orangeburg Prep
      In recent years at Hammond, the football program painted success in vivid, broad strokes. The victories - 38 in the past 40 games - were a deep red: 20 were by 20 points or more, including one of the Skyhawks three consecutive SCISA Class 3A titles. Even the rare loss was close - a combined 11 points - and quickly brushed over.
