The Rehoboth United Church celebrated 44 years August 23 at the 11 am service at 1912 Cushman Drive, the final service at this location. The keynote speakers was Dr. Monroe Saunders Jr., presiding bishop of the United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic and pastor of Transformation Church of Jesus Christ in Baltimore, Maryland.

This church has served as one of the spiritual pillars of the community under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Bishop C. L. Lorick Sr. for 36 years and his son Bishop C. L. "Josh" Lorick Jr. for the past eight years.

The church was established in 1965 as a church mission with two members located then at 1822 Bluff Road. The church is affiliated with the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) headquartered in Baltimore. The United Church has over 75 affiliate churches, represented in the U.S., Jamaica, Canada, Africa, and Antigua.

In 1968 the church purchased land on Cushman Drive and converted a military barrack into a worship facility. In 1974, construction was completed and the existing sanctuary was dedicated with a seating capacity of 325 people. In 1978, the fellowship and dining facility were completed.

In 1984, the house across the street was purchased for annex purposes. In 1993 6.25 acres of land on Beltline Boulevard were purchased to build a new facility.

In July 2009, Phase I of the new worship facility was completed at 3420 N. Beltline Boulevard including the sanctuary that seat 350 people, the administrative and classroom space. Phase II will be the opening of the balcony in the spring of 2010 that will allow 300 more seats.
