Visit or paint the oldest building in Richland County
Contributed by Pat McNeeley Bring your palette and easel or just come and visit the oldest building in Richland County at Sesquicentennial Park from 9 am to noon Saturday, September 12. The old log cabin built in 1754 will be open to the public for three hours. Artists are encouraged to paint and draw the old building, and docents will be telling the history of the cabin. A number of well- known artists will be demonstrating their techniques and answering questions. Refreshments will be served. The morning of art and history is sponsored by the Log Cabin Art Guild and the Richland/Lexington Cultural Council. Admission to the cabin is free, but visitors over the age of 15 will have to pay a $2 admission fee to get into the park. The park is located at 9564 Two Notch Road in Columbia.
