Crystal Lee Martin and John Francis Clark Jr. were married June 20, 2009, at 2:30 pm in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Columbia, South Carolina. Father John Giuliani, the bride's priest from Fort Mill, South Carolina, performed the double ring ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs.John Francis Clark Jr. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Martin of Sumter, South Carolina. Her maternal grandmother is Mrs. Mary K. Weidman of Effingham, Illinois. Her paternal grandmother is Mrs. Georgia L. Martin of Indianapolis, Indiana. The bride graduated from Thomas Sumter Academy in Sumter and Winthrop University with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She is employed with Orchard Park Elementary School in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
The bridegroom is the son of Ms. Ingrid Williams Clark of Columbia and Mr. and Mrs. John Francis Clark Sr. of Waterloo, South Carolina. His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Woodward W. Williams Jr. of Columbia. His paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar R. Clark Sr. of Abbeville, South Carolina. The bridegroom graduated from Cardinal Newman High School and Winthrop University with a BS in business administration. He is employed by Harris- Crane, Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white strapless, A- line, floor length dress with beadwork around the waist that gathered to the right side. She carried a bouquet of yellow/orange Calla lilies and yellow orchids. The maid of honor was Elizabeth Ann Schaefer of Fort Mill. The bridesmaid was Hillary Ann Collins, cousin of the bride of Effingham.
Thomas K. Savage of North Augusta, South Carolina, served as best man. The groomsman was Col. Dustin E. Wade of Florence, South Carolina. The ushers were Clint E. Martin, brother of the bride of Charleston, South Carolina; Will S. Clark, brother of the bridegroom of Waterloo; and Justin T. Neeley of Columbia.
The cross bearer was Adam S. Wiedman, cousin of the bride. The readers were Penny Wiedman, godmother of the bride, and Woody Williams, uncle of the bridegroom.
A reception was held at Leaside in Columbia. After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
