Keep active at The Shepherd's Center of Columbia

It's fun to keep your brain active by taking classes and meeting new friends at the Shepherd's Center of Columbia. Classses meet every Wednesday, beginning September 16 in the Leisure Ministries Building of the Trenholm Road United Methodist Church (TRUMC). This program is geared to anyone over 55 years old. Classes are generally taught by volunteer teachers and professors.

Coffee Fellowship begins at 9 am. Yoga for seniors is followed by free blood pressure check by a registered nurse, Faith Stephenson.

Other classes include Acrylic and Watercolor Painting for intermediate and advanced students, Bridge, EB Classic Movies and Great Stars, Germany and the Weimar Republic, Dulcimer, Gardening Seminars, Gospel Stories from the New Testament, Creative Writing, Mental Illness in the 21st Century, Islam, Handbells, Jazz and Swing Composers, Senior Health and Wellness, Music and Stories of Famous Operas, Southern Fiction, and Travels with Warner Montgomery.

Lunch is served each Wednesday for $7. Tuition is $25 per semester. For more information, call 779-4449.
