Workshop Theatre presents the Midlands Premiere of Mel Brooks' "The Producers"
Max Bialystock (Matthew DeGuire), Ulla (Mandy Nix) and Leo Bloom (Kevin Bush) in Workshop Theatre's production of "The Producers" It'll be a blitzkrieg of song, dance, and comedy when "The Producers" comes to Workshop Theatre September 11- 26.
See what happens when a has- been impresario conspires with a nerdy partner to bilk investors through a plan to put on a sure- fire Broadway flop, only to see their scam backfire as the show becomes a surprise hit.
"The Producers" is Borscht Belt entertainment at its bawdiest - often over the top, sometimes shamelessly vulgar and always joyous. It's also a love letter to some of the Great White Way's best- known musicals. And amid the antics is a poignant story of friendship.
The cast features Matthew DeGuire as down- on- his-luck producer Max Bialystock; Kevin Bush as timid CPA Leo Bloom; Mandy Nix as their curvaceous secretary Ulla; Steven Hillard and Steven Thompson as flamboyant director Roger De Bris and his assistant Carmen Ghia; and Kyle L. Collins as Nazi playwright Franz Liebkind. This talented group of principals is supported by an ensemble of 15 performers appearing as myriad personalities whose hijinks promise to knock your socks off.
It's the premiere of Broadway's most- honored show on a Midlands stage!
"The Producers" is directed and choreographed by Cindy Flach, with music direction by Randy Moore, set design by Randy Strange, and costumes by Ruth Mock.
