The South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind continues to accept applications for the fall 2009 semester. Parents are encouraged to apply early to allow adequate time for admissions review. The Richland 2 school board rejected a year- round, K- 5 charter school recently, despite the state Department of Education's assessment that the proposed Hope Charter School meets the state's rigorous charter school standards. More ... The school day will begin at 8 am instead of 8:15 am for Richland One high school students this year. The school day will end at 3:15 pm for high schools, the same as last year's dismissal time.
