The South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division is coordinating efforts with The Cooperative Ministry to donate backpacks and school supplies to children's homes and youth advocacy programs throughout the Midlands.

Items will be collected through August 11 at the following locations: Howser, Newman, & Besley, 1508 Washington St.; Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands, 3700 Forest Dr., Ste. 350; S.C. Bar, 950 Taylor St., 3rd Floor; and 11th Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office, 205 E. Main St., Lexington.

Examples of items needed include backpacks, spiral bound notebooks, loose leaf paper, composition notebooks, binders, pocket folders, scissors, rulers, compasses, protractors, dividers, mechanical pencils, colored pencils, #2 pencils, highlighters, dry erase markers, crayons, 3x5 index cards, Post- It notes, book covers, dictionaries, and large boxes of Kleenex.
