Join the South Carolina Aquarium Sunday, August 2 to kick- off a week long celebration of all things more dangerous than sharks as the Aquarium takes the bite out of sharks during the Discovery Channel's Shark Week, August 2- 8. Enter the Aquarium through the mouth of a great white and explore the truth about sharks with numerous educational stations and special activities.

Did you know 410,000 people are injured by chairs each year in the United States? That is 409,900 more people than get hurt from sharks! Earn an "O- fishal Investigator" certificate with Carlos the Shark on the Aquariumwide Mythbusters Mystery Hunt and learn about chairs, televisions and other simple objects that are actually more dangerous than sharks. Visitors can also catch a sharkthemed dive show, enjoy one of the shark educational programs or experience an interactive shark activity. Stop by the Aquarium's shark cage for a photo opportunity, watch sharks swim in the Aquarium's

385,000- gallon Great Ocean Tank and get creative

at the craft station led by the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry.

Want to help care for a shark of your very own? During Shark Week, when you support the sand tiger shark through the animal adoption program, you will receive a special gift and customized Shark Week adoption certificate.
