Cayce Speed Enforcement Unit continuing efforts
The City of Cayce is continuing its efforts with the recently implemented Traffic Speed Enforcement Unit. As a reminder, one of the unit's recent accomplishments was sending its officers to the "Alive at 25" course where they received certification and are now qualified as instructors for the class.
"Alive at 25" is designed to teach young drivers to be aware of many of the typical driving hazards facing young motorist. One statistic reported on the webpage states, "Traffic crashes are the leading cause of teen fatalities, accounting for 44% of teen deaths in the U.S." For more information, visit www.scaliveat25. org.
If your group or organization is located within the City of Cayce and you would like to arrange a presentation by one of the traffic officers, contact Sergeant Dean Rucker by email at DRucker@cityofcayce- sc. gov or by phone at 803- 739-0684.
Numbers reported for the month of June are as follows: one DUI, 55 tickets, 110 violations, 50 crashes, and 114 charges.
