I saw "Public Enemies" with a baby

I watched the movie "Public Enemies" with a baby Saturday, July 11, 2009, at the 5:30 showing at Winsong on Forest Drive. The first scene shows Melvin Purvis and his men hunting down a gangster and killing him in cold blood with a rifle, and for two hours I heard the sound of machine guns and a baby cooing and calling out for her mama. After the movie, I made a quick run to the restroom, and the mother was changing the little girl's diaper that showed evidence of an odor those sitting around her probably did not enjoy. This is not the first time I have had a movie ruined by a baby.

My questions. Why are babies allowed in movies? Why do parents subject them to movies children are not allowed to attend? Why does the management allow it? Why did I and the others in the theater put up with it? And where is DSS when we need them?

My plea. Parents, please get a babysitter and leave your children at home or wait until the DVD comes out and watch the movie at home. Have some respect for those who have paid good money to relax and see a movie without the interruption of a cooing, talking, or crying baby.
