Colonial Ball debutantes honored at tea

Britney Rast, Martha Whitney Bellows, Lauren McCarter, and Isabelle Caskey Four South Carolina Sons of the American Revolution Colonial Ball Debutantes were honored with an elegant tea at the Woman's Club of Columbia's Sims- Stackhouse historic mansion Saturday afternoon, June 20, 2009.
The debutantes are Britney Alicia Rast whose patriots are Lt. Samuel Montgomery and Pvt. George James, Lauren Glenn McCarter whose patriot is Pvt. James Glenn, Martha Whitney Bellows whose patriot is Capt. George Givens, and Isabelle Pinckney Caskey whose patriot is Pvt. William Gainer. Almost 100 ladies and little girls gathered to pay tribute to these debutantes and their ancestors.
The hostesses were Faye James Pender, Eliza Pender Foster, and Margaret Ellen Pender, all of whom are members of the William Capers Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The late Margaret Chandler James was also a member and was held in memory at the tea.
The hostesses were assisted by Doris Harrington, Yvonne Howell, and Katie Hennecy who are also members of the William Capers Chapter and Bonnie Haynes. The lovely flower arrangements were done by Mary and Charles Russell.
