Richland One students selected for Wachovia Business Camp at USC
Lower Richland High School seniors Michael and Matthew Brown were selected to participate in the Wachovia Business Camp at USC- June 20-26. Two Lower Richland High School seniors, twins Michael and Matthew Brown, are participating in the Wachovia Business Camp at USC the week of June 20- 26.
The twins are among 30 exceptional minority students in South Carolina and North Carolina chosen to participate in this scholars program, funded by the Wachovia Foundation. More than 170 students applied for the program.
The Moore School of Business program teaches rising high school seniors about business development and how to create a business plan for a new start- up enterprise. The students live on the university campus and attend college- level courses in accounting, management, finance, marketing, and related subjects. The classes are taught by Moore School faculty.
The students will form teams who must present their business plans to faculty, peers, and Wachovia business executives on the final day of camp. A group of judges will determine the top three plans, and the teams presenting those plans will receive cash prizes. As participants in the business camp, Michael and Matthew will be eligible to compete for full Wachovia scholarships to study business at USC.
