Lower Richland senior awarded AAF summer scholarship

Lower Richland High School senior, Brianna Nurse, was awarded the American Advertising Federation of the Midlands Minority Internship Program's summer scholarship, allowing her the opportunity to garner hands- on experience in the field of advertising and mass communications.

During a two week internship, Nurse will visit companies and organizations that specialize in advertising, marketing, public relations, and broadcast.

In her second week of the internship program, Nurse will pick one of the companies she visited during her first week and spend a full week learning the details of that particular field.

"I am very excited and honored to receive this award," says Nurse after learning she was chosen. "It is great to have the chance to see what the advertising field is really like before being a full- time professional. This will also give me a better idea of what I want to major in next year in college."
