Furry four- legged function features fun
Sarah Glenn Leventis and Megan Pleasant with Marley who won best talent Pud Patterson's lawn was the site of the 5th Annual Neighborhood Pet Show Saturday, June 20, 2009. By 11 am the yard was filled with all manner of Canine Americans, assorted bunnies, and even a few cats. The cats, being cats after all, declined to compete but provided security for the event, lounging amongst the shrubs and overseeing the proceedings.
The day was hot and humid but Patterson's lawn was cool, green, and lush and just begging to be wallowed in. Miss Mary Louise Bolylston served as Master of Ceremonies and Miss Bellinger Boylston was once again chief judge. Other judges included Sabra Smith and Bob Gillespie. More than one spunky canine stopped for a good wallow in the plush grass as they strutted their stuff for the judges. Their frolicking antics were the hit of the day for the spectators.
For the fifth year in a row, Patterson and her granddaughters put on a spectacular show. There were prizes for spunkiest, most colorful, hairiest, best to curl up with, and much much more. Everyone assembled had a great time and every pet took home at least one prize.
Mary Louise Boylston, Master of Ceremonies, with Pud Patterson and Wiggy who won hairiest and best hopper In today's fast- paced world, it is great to see neighbors take time out to visit and enjoy neighborhood events. This one will be an event to remember. Congratulations to Pud Patterson and her family for taking time to reach out and show us all how to be good neighbors
