Members of Shandon United Methodist Church celebrated Nancy Kelley's 50 years of employment June 14. She began working June 15, 1959, as financial secretary. She also directed the children's choirs and the handbell choir, and in the 70s, she became Shandon's organist.

According to Michael Guffee, the senior minister, Nancy's mood and demeanor never change. She is always positive, calm, cool, and collected. On an average week, she spends about 50 hours at her two jobs as secretary and organist. She plays for weddings and funerals for the church members and others in the community. She meets everyone who comes in the office with utmost courtesy and respect striving to offer the best help possible. She is truehearted, wholehearted, faithful, and loyal. Retirement is not on her radar screen. She loves Shandon and her two jobs too much.
