Dillion Ingram Dreher High School Six Richland One graduates have been named winners in the prestigious and highly competitive 2008- 09 National Merit Scholarship Program, which awards college scholarships to academically gifted students.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and college scholarships. Winners are chosen based on strict criteria such as high standardized test scores, academic record, and community activities.

There are three types of awards: National Merit $2,500 scholarships that are single- payment awards; corporate- sponsored Merit/Achievement awards that may be renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study or one- time awards; and college- sponsored Merit Scholarship awards that are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.
