This may not be Kansas, but Richland County knows that "there's no place like home," when it comes to building wealth and accomplishing a major life goal.

In honor of National Homeownership Month, the county is inviting residents to come out and learn about the resources available to first- time homebuyers on Thursday, June 18 from 10 am- 2 pm on the third floor of the County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton Street.

Resources available include area developers, housing agencies, housing counselors, lenders, financial management organizations, and credit repair agencies.

Please be reminded that in order for a first- time homebuyer to claim the $8,000 Federal tax credit, a home must be purchased prior to 12/1/09
