Biscuit House holds Final Drive

2009-05-29 / News

As most of you might know Biscuit House has always been a part of the State Farmer's Market, which will be moving next year to a new location. USC has taken over the Bluff Road location. For us at the Biscuit House and others in the market, that may mean eviction no later than Feb. 28, 2010.

Over the years you have become accustomed to me reaching out to you with letters, phone calls, and personal reminders about our Biscuit House blood drives and fundraisers. We sponsored 55 drives from 1996- 2007 and collected over 2,500 pints of blood.

From 2003- 2007 we sponsored a fundraising campaign that collected money for the American Red Cross of Central South Carolina's Local Disaster Relief Fund. These are the folks who are there when someone loses their home due to fire, flooding, or some other unexpected disaster. Over the years, we have raised over $30,000 to assist this worthy cause.

Our future at Biscuit House is, at best, uncertain. However, if we should cease to exist as a business, we would like it to be our legacy that we were caring and contributing part of our community. With that as our mission, we would like to sponsor one Final Drive to raise blood and funds for our local chapter of the Red Cross.

The drive will be Friday, June 5. T- shirts will be available for anyone who donates $25 or more. Gift certificates and macaroni and cheese will be available June 5.
