Three high school students in Columbia were chosen to receive Jiffy Lube's Road Trip Scholarship of $1,000 each to help them with their college expenses. This was the third year of the program, which was created in order to help deserving high school seniors further their education and reach their goals.

Jiffy Lube has been given a lot by the communities they serve and in return wanted to give students who might not otherwise be able to further their education the opportunity to do so.

Students were asked to describe in an essay what road trip they are taking along with the course they plotted to get to their destination, whether that be becoming a doctor, architect, teacher or other profession. They also described any roadblocks they might encounter during their trip and how they would overcome them.

A review committee was formed to go over the many applications received and winners were chosen based on originality, spelling, grammar, readability and clarity. The students are Katie Wilson from Lexington High School, Andrew Nisbet from Dutch Fork High School , and Amina Ashraf from Airport High School.
