Charles Wadsworth April 30, 2009, was Charles Wadsworth's final appearance as conductor of world- class chamber music groups, which have appeared in Columbia for nearly a decade. Wadsworth was given keys to the city by Columbia Mayor Bob Coble at the Columbia Museum of Art following a performance of a chamber music quartet under Wadsworth's direction. The 80- year- old musician has been one of the artistic directors of Spoleto, USA concerts in Charleston, South Carolina since 1977.
