Northeast Farmers Market returns to Lake Carolina
The Northeast Farmers Market will return for its sixth year at the Lake Carolina Town Center on Thursday, May 7. The market features fresh fruits and vegetables, free range meats, flowers and plants, baked goods, local honey, certified organic produce, soaps, and potpourri, farm fresh eggs, and more.
The market will be open from 2:30 pm to 7 pm and these hours will continue every Thursday until the market ends in late November.
"This year's market promises an even greater variety than years past," said Alan Lattanzi, who spearheads this project, trumpeting the opening of the 2009 farmers market season. "There will be new growers and old friends you've come to know and love over the past five years."
The market also features special activities each week for kids of all ages. Kids can enjoy watching a blacksmith shoe a horse or listen to the music of the local Kelly Mill Middle School Choir and Chamber Music ensemble. The YMCA will provide several arts and crafts events for young children and preschoolers throughout the coming months. Kids may also participate in games and pet the local farm animals.
