Local students take top honors at S.C. Geographic Bee

      At the 20th Annual South Carolina Geographic Bee on April 3, Luke Porter, an eighth- grade homeschooled student from Columbia, became the 2009 state champion after correctly answering the question "Florence Nightingale, who is recognized as the founder of modern nursing, reduced death rates dramatically during which war that shares its name with the Ukrainian peninsula?

Family Health Night at Killian Elementary

      Killian Elementary held their third annual Family Health Night on March 26. The night started with health screenings provided by Eau Claire Cooperative Health Centers. The James R. Clark Sickle Cell Foundation was also there to provide screening for sickle cell disease.

RNE Model UN again takes awards at Nationals

      Competing against 150 Model UN teams from around the world at the National Model UN Conference in New York, the Richland Northeast Model UN team again came home a winner. The team took the second place research award and the third place team award at the March competition.
