A windy night at Memorial Stadium on March 24 saw Brookland- Cayce deliver a 1- 0 victory over Dreher thanks to a fantastic strike by Greg Stone. The rocket of a shot was enough to hold back a late Blue Devil charge and earn another victory for the 9th ranked Bearcats.

Apart from two early BC shots, one by Chastin Lockhart that ricocheted off the crossbar and another by Rico Jackson that was saved, neither team was able to put together much successful offense in the first half. The Bearcats controlled possession with Jack Giraldo, Josh Boatwright, and Jackson, but the Dreher defense was up to the task, preventing goals each time.

With the wind swirling, it was difficult to control balls in the air so the match turned into a back- and- forth battle in the midfield, neither side giving up much ground. Just before half, Dreher's Byron Quinatoa narrowly missed a free kick, sending it just inches above the crossbar.

As the second half began, Dreher pushed the issue with Cam Caldwell, Collin Glass, and Preston Mousseau powering forward into the teeth of the BC defense. Yet it was the Bearcats who came away with a goal in the 49th minute. A free kick awarded to BC was passed off to the right side where Stone blasted an incredible shot across the field and into the top left corner of the goal. The stunning result electrified the visiting team and fans.

Dreher continued to pressure BC's defense with Justin Nicks joining the attack later in the match, but they just could not seem to finish. Time and again, Stone, Adam Keller, and William Flores thwarted the Blue Devils on the back line. While the Bearcats were equally unable to find the goal again, Stone's inspiring goal was enough to earn the Bearcats a tough away victory.
