Richland County offers tips to weather the current economic crisis

With South Carolina and the nation facing the current economic crisis, Richland County Government is providing residents tools to be financially pro- active by

hosting the first ever American Dr ea m - F inancial

Empowerment, Home Buying and Green Living Conference

on Saturday, March 21 from 9 am- 2 pm. This free conference will take place on the campus of Richland Northeast High School and feature Washington P ost Finance Columnist and author Michelle Singletary as the keynote speaker. Singletary is a frequent contributor to National Public Radio and MSNBC

This FREE, dynamic one- day conference will offer seminars on Budget and Credit Repair, Home Improvements, Community Safety, and Sustainable (Green) Living Techniques. There will even be kid friendly seminars. Lowe's Home Improvement will feature a Build and Grow Project for youth between the ages of 6- 12. South Carolina Community Bank will offer a youth savings seminar for youth between the ages of 6- 12

Free Electronic Recycling and Document Shredding will also be offered. Residents will be able to recycle household computers, printers, scanners fax machines, laptops, answering machines, and phones.
