Activities at Bridge Creek Elementary

 Ranger Stacey Jenson, Sesqui State Park Naturalist, met with Bridge Creek third grade classes to talk about the kinds of plants and animals they might find in a wetlands habitat. There is a designated wetlands area located on the school property.  Third grade students at Bridge Creek Elementary went mining with Diamond Del in his mobile mine van equipped with a flume of running water. Students searched through boxes of rocks and minerals and left with their own rock collection. Students used a Mineral Identification Chart to identify rocks and minerals such as calcite, pyrite (fools gold), rose quartz, quartz crystals, and more. |
