Ranger Stacey Jenson, Sesqui State Park Naturalist, met with Bridge Creek third grade classes to talk about the kinds of plants and animals they might find in a wetlands habitat. There is a designated wetlands area located on the school property. Third grade students at Bridge Creek Elementary went mining with Diamond Del in his mobile mine van equipped with a flume of running water. Students searched through boxes of rocks and minerals and left with their own rock collection. Students used a Mineral Identification Chart to identify rocks and minerals such as calcite, pyrite (fools gold), rose quartz, quartz crystals, and more.
