Columbia Senior Center's Wind & Unwind lecture March 18
Dr. Connie Schulz will present Virgins and Vamps: Images of Women in 19th Century America" Wednesday, March 18 at the Capital Senior Center.
Stereographs provided the first "3- D" pictorial look at life and its surroundings and were extremely popular in the 1800s. Dr. Schulz, Professor Emeritus of History at USC and co- director of the school's Public History Program, offers a lively, interesting commentary on the lives and perceptions of 19th century American women while showing stereographs from the era.
The event begins at 5:30 pm with refreshments, followed by the lecture and discussion, ending at 7 pm. Reservations for seating are suggested by calling the Center at 779-1971.
