Service for Marlene Denham Godshall Chandler, 76, will be private. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Chandler died Friday, February 27, 2009. Born in West Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Franklin Lee and Katherine Holloman Denham. She was a fan of USC sports and NASCAR.

Surviving are son, Rupert A. "Rad" Godshall III of Columbia; daughter, Kerri Godshall Scott of Columbia; grandchild, Melissa Scott Siar and her husband, Kirk, of Columbia; great- granddaughter, Elliana Scott; and two loving nieces and their families. She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Denham Taylor.

In lieu of flowers and because of Mrs. Chandler's lifelong love of animals, the family requests that memorials be made to the Humane Society (SPCA), 121 Humane Lane, Columbia, SC 29209.
