On February 23, 2009, the Red Cross Heroes responded to a multi- family fire at Waterford Apartments in Columbia. This disaster was the largest multi- family fire in recent Red Cross history. Don Harrell, a musical theatrical actor and his wife, Tutu, a cultural storyteller spent time each day with the third- fifth grades, sharing their Orisirisi program, which teaches students African folklore through song, drama and dance.
