Brownie Troop 2275 is giving back to their neighborhood.

This year, they not only have done fun things for themselves, but also for their community.

On January 16 they held a drive to raise food and supplies for the pets at the Humane Society, then took a field trip to deliver the items collected.

On February 6, the troop made Valentine cards and delivered them, along with can tabs from Rosewood Elementary, to the Ronald McDonald House.

Kelly Hynes, owner of 20/20 Vision in Five Points, started a brand new troop of "Daisy" Girl Scouts a year ago at Rosewood Elementary School. Most of the Daisies "bridged" up to Brownies this year and Hynes is now leader of this community- minded group of 19 six and seven year olds.

Hynes is encouraging her Brownie troop to be role models in their community and a positive influence on their peers. She says she grew up as a Girl Scout, and it has always been her dream to lead a troop because scouting had a strong influence on her, bringing many positive values and skills.
