Absent Pat Huggins The second in our series of special services for the Shandon Centennial Celebration took place on Sunday, February 15. The quilt committee has been working very hard for almost two years planning for, designing, and making a very special quilt in honor of the Centennial. Belva Hamer chaired the committee and worked with Clelia Moore, Gladys Dunn, Sallie McCutchen, and Pat Huggins on completing the project. Belva has generously funded the project and the committee decided they wanted the quilt to be in memory of Belva's beloved husband Brad.

The committee worked hard on the planning for what should go on the quilt. The design was done by the talented Clelia Moore. Gladys Dunn, who is gifted in sewing put the quilt together. All members of the committee contributed in special ways.

Clelia wrote a litany telling about the different parts of the quilt and what they stand for. The litany was used in the services when the quilt was unveiled. Following the service, the quilt was hung in the Great Hall.
