They think, "I wish there was something I could do to help." Thirteen- year- old Julia Tenhover did something about it.

SQ Rescue is a charitable organization that has been rescuing dogs since 1980. Mary and Bill Escue, the owners of SQ Rescue, work to take good care of each rescued dog, while also giving them veterinary care and arranging foster homes.

Faye Tenhover, Julia Tenhover's mother, has helped to foster many of the puppies of SQ Rescue. Faye has been battling cancer ever since she came to help foster the puppies. However, she has recently had to stop fostering because of her health and having to travel back and forth to North Carolina for treatment.

However, Julia Tenhover still had a place in her heart for the puppies. Julia began a lemonade stand, while also asking for donations for the rescued dogs of SQ Rescue. She raised a total of $98.

On Saturday, January 10, Julia rode with her father, Jeff Tenhover, to Petsmart in order to personally deliver the money she raised to Karen Langley of SQ Rescue.

Langley said, "Julia is a very sweet and loving little girl, and she has a lot on her plate right now that a little girl should never have to deal with," says Karen.

Julia Tenhover has made a difference in these dogs' lives. She has provided them with shelter and loving care. Most of all, even though it's temporary, she has given these puppies a home when they needed it the most.

Going out of her way to help an animal in need, when she is faced with a lot, is truly special.
