Dr. Constance Schulz, professor emeritus of history at the University of South Carolina, has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to digitize the papers of two prominent South Carolina women, Eliza Lucas Pinckney and her daughter, Harriett Pinckney Horry.

The Midlands Affiliate of the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration has announced its new board of officers for 2009.
