In winter the wardrobe of plants for these miniature gardens can be formal, festive, functional, or just plain fun. Often gardeners use themes to help target plant selection for their window boxes.

      Congaree National Park is offering a "Big Tree Hike" led by Park Ranger Stuart Greeter, Saturday, January 24, at 10 am. Congaree National Park is known for big trees, and many national and state champion trees are located in the park. This six mile hike will take visitors to some of the biggest trees of their kind, and show how champion trees are determined.
